Because of East Central Wisconsin's vast size—from Wasau in the northwest to Lake
Michigan in the east and West Bend in the south—this region has a myriad of things
to offer any traveller. Along the lakeshore, the city of Sheboygan is renowned
for its ability to have visitors yelling fore – at one of the city's many well-groomed
golf courses. Fond du Lac, alongside Wisconsin's largest inland lake, Lake Winnebago,
is home to Lakeside Park, a 400 acre (162 hectare) park with miniature train,
lagoons, covered bridges and a lookout lighthouse. Also in Fond du Lac is the
Octagon House, which was once featured on the History Channel because of its now
not-so-secret passages, which visitors are invited to explore in a guided tour.
Wisconsin's number one fruit crop, cranberries, are found in abundance in Wisconsin
Rapids and paint the area along Cranberry Highway with a crimson hue.
